An active member of the eastern suburbs community, Roy is on the Orakei Basin Protection Society Committee, was a key member of the successful STEM (Stop the Eastern Motorway) organisation, and as a recognised local community influencer, has been invited onto steering committees involving urban development, by previous Auckland mayors.
For the last 20 years, Roy has lived on the edge of the Orakei Basin (as did his father & grandfather) and when not selling houses, he loves to go boating on the Waitemata Harbour, ski, golf, fish, ride his motorcycle and travel.
He feels very strongly about the current global, financial and geopolitical environment (don’t start him) and accordingly, has become a Red Cross Refugee Resettlement volunteer.
He has placed a Ugandan & 2 Somali refugees to date. Roy has also sponsored 2 World Vision children over the last 20 years and continues to do so.
